Two Minute Meditation

Thursday, 30 April 2009

Think of your favourite flower. Now, begin to build a picture of it vividly in your mind’s eye. See its colour - is it red, yellow, blue, shining white? What shape is it? Does it have a flat face or is it cup shaped? How many petals - a few or masses tightly wrapped?

Once you can sense its shape and colour let yourself be drawn into it. If it has a perfume let that be your pathway. Or imagine the colour reaching out and folding you in.

Now that you are in the depths of the flower, notice the faint honey scent from its nectar, see that each petal is iridescent, feel its soft texture all around you.

Breathe the colour of the flower into you, let the cool freshness fill you. Sink down so deeply that you become part of the flower. You become as clear and as reflective as a drop of dew perched on a petal.

Everything drains out of you, you release every tension, every worry until you are at peace.

Power Animals

In a couple of weeks I am running a workshop on Working With Your Guides. As well as meeting your Guardian Angels and Guides, you will also meet your Power or Totem Animal.

This is a wonderful experience. When I first met mine - a jaguar - she took me off for a romp in the forest, played with me on the shores of a lake and then sat patiently and taught me some of the wisdom she can offer me.

Sometimes people have two or more Power Animals and sometimes their Animal is one which unconsciously they have always been drawn too. Caroline, our Admin Goddess here at 7th Space has always loved green tree frogs and when she is giving or receiving healing there is often a small frog in her energy!

Springtime in Edinburgh

Tuesday, 28 April 2009

About a year ago I moved to Edinburgh. I have to confess, it wasn’t with any great enthusiasm - I’m more of a country girl. But as a Scot, I did feel I should at least spend some time in our capital and get to know it.

Well somehow the city has cast a spell and day by day I have come to appreciate and enjoy it. I love the dramatic city scape of the Castle and Firth of Forth and the Pentland Hills all visible from the top of Carlton Hill and I love the buzz the international visitors bring.

But these last couple of weeks have really made me fall in love. Blossom trees are out everywhere, skies are all shades of blue, architectural details suddenly shine in the spring sunshine. I’m brimming with enthusiasm and even sneaking out from 7th Space to collect some coffee feels like an adventure.

Reiki Light

I am in the middle of giving Reiki training and attunements. One course is for Mastership and as usual I am aware that my healing and Reiki guides are all around me, supporting and advising me. Reiki attunement is a very spiritual experience both for the student and the Master and each one is unique.

One of the first things you learn as a Master is that the attunement doesn’t come from you. However, every Master wants to be sure that they are in a very clear space so that the experience for the student is as life-enhancing and wonderful as possible.

I am also as usual, excited that after the courses, there are going to be more members joining the worldwide Reiki ‘community’. Sometimes when I tune in energetically I am aware of all these loving people, shining like points of light all over the globe. Now that’s magical!

Yummy Crystals

Sunday, 26 April 2009
The other day Emma and I were in one of our favourite shops in Edinburgh, Tallula on Cockburn St. We were in choosing some crystals for 7th Space, and as usual we got talking to the wonderful people there. They are passionate about crystals and their stock is amazing. Every crystal sparkles with happiness and practically leaps off the shelf towards you and many are very unusual.
We bought some Preseli Blue Stones from Wales. This is the same rock which was used for some of the standing stones at Stonehenge. That in itself would be pretty irresistible but the small polished stones themselves are remarkable.

When I held them it felt like a fresh wind was blowing through my aura and chakras, cleansing and renewing them. Emma said she felt as if she’d just had peppermint injected into her! We had to have some and will use them during workshops to revitalise everyone.

Just want to say many congratulations to Caroline! Today she completed her Reiki II Attunement!
For what it's worth, sweetie, I am so proud of you & look forward to lots of lovely Reiki XXX

Books in all their Glory

Emma, Caroline and I love books. I once studied to be a librarian and my favourite line from the film The Mummy is when the heroine Evie says, ‘I, Sir am … a librarian!”

So it seems natural to make sure there are plenty of books at 7th Space.

Glossy ones, miniature ones, well-thumbed and pristine ones. Ones which tell a whole story in pictures, ones which tell a whole story in words so gripping they are read all night. Books which smell as fragrant as dried flowers or a wood-smoke fire. Books whose pages are as smooth as glass or as fragile as tissue.

All of them have something in common though. They are calling to us to pick them up, open the covers and step into their wonderful worlds.

Come and visit!

Songlines Part 2

Friday, 24 April 2009
Reading about the place in the psyche and experience of songlines in quite diverse cultures, set me thinking. (You knew that was coming, didn’t you?)

Healing is like a songline.

It leads us along a path with landmarks along the way so we don’t get lost in pain or fear. The path shows us how to avoid the rocky stretches where somehow being ill can take over our lives, or we unconsciously hold onto to illness because it serves us in some way emotionally.

The healing path can lead us to high plateaux where we can look out and see a life free from disease and ailment.

And finally healing leads us into the sunlit meadows where we can be joyful and complete.

"Don't you think it's funny that nothings what it seems
When you're not looking forward?
Me, I'd like to think life is like a drink
And I'm hoping that it tastes like bourbon

You know that I've been drunk a thousand times
And these should be the best days of my life
Life, it's not what I thought it was

Damn blast, look at my past
I'm ripping up my feet over broken glass
I said, Oh wow, look at me now
I'm building up my problems to the size of a cow...." (The Wonderstuff)

So many of us are disillusioned with our lives! Having put aside our dreams, lowered our expectations, and created problems and dramas in order to hide the real truth of our unhappiness.
How many of us accept 'second' best? How many of us fill ourselves with belief's and excuses so that we can just 'settle for less'?
Do any of these beliefs apply to you?
  • I can't move above my station in life
  • I come from along line of poor people
  • Life owes me
  • If I am rich I will worship money

There are many other beliefs that we hold, some from your family and society, some from issues that you soul has had over time and some that are in your cells, genetic & DNA.

The wonderful thing is that we can change these! Theta Healing is so deep and profound that areas which would not have previously been uncovered are simply found, lifted and resolved or replaced with a positive and life enhancing belief!

We can manifest sometimes just by talking, this is why you need to think (& talk) positively!And we can certainly manifest effectively through visualisation, but the most effective way is to manifest with Theta!

The spoken word is approximately 30-40% effective.

Visualisation about 50%.

Theta wave manifesting is effective a whooping 80%-90% of the time!

So, get thinking about what you want...truly want! Day dream, imagine anything is possible. I have always wanted to wear red shoes. I currently, own about 5 pairs :o) But when I initially wanted this, there were few shops that sold any, by using manifestion there is now a plethora of shops stocking red shoes! Susan, manifests parking spaces...always getting the best and most convenient one...even on Saturday shopping!

Remember you are worthy of anything! The world is at our feet and brimming full of possibilities from parking spaces to houses to infinite joy!

Songlines Part 1

Tok means ‘path’, road’ or ‘gate’ to the people of Papua New Guinea. But as it is used in song, the sense is more that of ‘map’. It refers to the way a song, from start to finish, projects not merely a description of places, but a journey.

The song is successful when listeners are totally suspended into a journeying mood, experiencing the passage of song and poetic time as the progression of a journey.

Constructing a song as a path, or tok, sets the listeners on a journey during which they simultaneously experience a progression of lands and places and a progression of deeply felt sentiments associated with them.

All songs are sung from the point of movement through lands. The composer’s craft is not to tell people about places but to suspend them into those places. Singing a place is not a descriptive act but rather one that ‘impregnates’ identity into place, tree, water and sound names.

The Kogi people of Columbia also have songlines, subtle songs of the spirit world. The song leads along a path in the spirit world in the maze of memory and possibility to a point in the real world.

White

Wednesday, 22 April 2009

I love white. White is every colour. White evolves all the time whenever light steals over it. It is a vast colour.

Say YES!

Tuesday, 21 April 2009
Julia Cameron (The Writer’s Way) says “many of us are fearful and we expect to encounter No when we might just as easily find Yes.”

Is this any wonder? Probably the first words an infant understands are - No, don’t do that. You mustn’t do that. Mummy doesn’t want you to do that.

Then at school we are told - This is what you can’t do. No, No, No.

Our lives are hedged in by this word.

Breaking free and saying Yes to life means developing a strong awareness and a conviction that the heavens aren’t going to fall on your head. In fact the heavens will send up fireworks and brass bands of joy to see us embracing life.

Soul Guidance Healing

Life is full of complexities, much of which make it an exciting and a wonderful experience. However, these can also distract us from our purpose and we are so busy with 'life' that we lose sight of our own dreams.
I have developed the Soul Guidance Healing as a pro-active way to discover your soul's true path. By using powerful Theta Healing technique's I help you shift blocks and belief's that hinder your growth. Together we can manifest your deepest desire's and set you on the path to a full and joy filled life!

A Soul Guidance Healing Can Help You:
  • Find positivity in your life.
  • Discover and clarify things about yourself.
  • Change old patterns and lift negative behaviours.
  • Aid decision making.
  • Fulfill your dreams.
  • Make your business and working life a success.
  • Develop and understand your relationships.
  • Achieve your goals.
  • Find and connect with your soul mate.
  • And of course, much, much more!

How A Soul Guidance Healing Works

The session is divided into 4 distinct areas.

First, I will give you a psychic reading (often using tarot or another divination tool), based on your questions to discover where you stand at present. We will discuss in-depth the areas that you would like to develop and heal.

Based on the issues that come to light in your reading, we will work on lifting and healing beliefs and sending unconditional love to any situations that may need it. We will meet your Guardian Angels and Spirit guides for advice and any messages that they may wish you to hear. This segment of the session is truly amazing, uncovering and healing many things that will have an instant effect, making your life flow with ease and grace.

We will begin to manifest some of the things that you want in your life. The greatest thing about manifesting is that it can be anything! From the perfect parking space (I kid you not, Susan does this all the time) to a completely new way of life, house, soul mate and utter bliss in your own being!

And lastly, I will give you a future reading based on the healing that we have done, this shows you how easily your desires can become reality.

It was......

Monday, 20 April 2009
A few years ago I read of a nightly practice which caught me up in its simplicity and beauty. As a way of of reflecting on the day and the state of one’s soul, I think it is elegant and illuminating.

Three lines:

First line begins - It was a day of…….
Middle line begins - It was …….
Last line begins - There was …….

Here are a few examples from my journal:

It was a day of rain
It was candlelight and home cooking and Tarot
There was a sense of resolve.

It was a day of three Haikus
It was tears and smiles in equal measure
There was creativity.

It was a day of looked-for post
It was slipping on the stairs and getting close to intent
There was peace - of a kind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S(by Emma :o) What were your three lines, today?
Mine were:
It was a day of cool, azure skies.
It was full of blackbirds chattering & protecting nests.
There was refreshed soul.
Looking Good!
Finally, I have the website looking how I would like it!(it's the perfectionist in me always twiddling for the 'right' graphic, font etc)
So please pop along top 7th Space & see what we have to offer so far....
Perfect Balance
Friday, 17 April 2009
There is something so soothing and peaceful about this picture.
I don't know if it's the clarity of the endless blue sky or the pristine whiteness of the stones or the wonder at the balance of the top stone, but it seems to effortlessly pull all the cells of my body into their own perfect balance.
Beautiful Complexity
Thursday, 16 April 2009
The ancient Celtic artists with their wonderfully intricate designs seemed to capture and reflect all the beauty of the world surrounding them.
We no longer have a complete understanding of the meaning behind the intricate knots, whorls and flourishes but something in their flowing beauty still stirs us.
Perhaps it was simply the artist's eternal desire to translate and interpret the beautiful complexity of our world.
Zipping Up
Wednesday, 15 April 2009
The energy cleansers - sparkling aura and balancing chakras, are good to do regularly to keep energy strong and clear.
But our energy system can be compromised at frequent times in the day. Here is the zip-up technique used in Theta Healing to strengthen our energy.
Zipping-up helps you to feel more positive about yourself, to think more clearly, protect yourself from unwanted energy around you from people and environmental and to re-establish your energetic balance and integrity.
It is simple, quick and unobtrusive to do:
Start level with your pubic bone and draw your hand upwards in a zipping-up gesture sweeping over the top of your head. This can be done rapidly and with intention to re-integrate your energy.
As you finish the gesture, be careful to drop your hand to the side and not down the front of your body - that would unzip you!
Chakra Balancing
Tuesday, 14 April 2009
Now that your aura is sparkling, the next step in your energy Spring clean is to clear and balance your chakras. These energy vortexes running from the base of our spine to our crown are our emotional and energetic gatherers and transmitters. They can easily become sluggish, out of balance and muddied up.
As with the aura clearing, if you can do this exercise outside that’s good. Begin by taking a moment to be calm and relaxed. Centre yourself by imagining a silver cord coming from the earth, going through your feet, up through your body, out the top of your head and connecting up to the Universe.
Now bring your right hand up, palm towards you and about 6 inches above the top of your head, begin to circle it in a clockwise direction. As your hand circles, visualise clear white light coming from your palm. This light clears the crown chakra and your hand movement helps balance and activate it.
When you are ready move your hand down to a few inches away from the spot between your eyes - the third eye chakra. Repeat the visualization of the white light and the clockwise circling. The third eye chakra is very sensitive and you may actually sense the energy in your palm and body.
When you are ready move down to your throat chakra, again keeping your hand a few inches away from your body, and repeat the above.
The heart chakra is next, followed by the solar plexus - just below the rib cage. The sacral chakra is located just below the navel and the base chakra is just below the pubic bone.
There is no rush, just move on to the next chakra when you are ready.
Spend a few moments basking in this wonderful energy and then as a final polish, visualise a sparkling golden light enveloping you, protecting you.
In your own time, gently bring yourself back to a awareness of the world, grounding your energy lightly with the earth.
Here I Stand Before Me
My doctor told me that it was time for me to have my X ray
Of course, I had many nightmares about that fatal day
The room was dark and my skeleton was floating on the wall
My voice trembles down inside me
I'm trapped way down in my body
I, oh here I stand before me
But something's out of place here
My mind's eye is missing from my body
Well I know it's there but I can't see where
Well take my fingers, what do fingers really mean to me?
You can easily look them up in the dictionary:
They call them digits, or technically they're known as the "philanges"
My joints connected up inside me
Way down deep inside my body
My bones shine brightly, a map of my whole body
My vital organs just churn away inside me
Some day they're going to stop this motion
And I'll be left with...
My my, the future lay before me
Hey hey, deep inside my body
Healing
Monday, 13 April 2009
"Where is your life you've been looking for a hundred thousand years....." Kingmaker
I have just had some amazing Theta healing. Most of my healing is on the History level (past lives, parallel timelines and dimensions) I have been shown incredible things, unbelievable at times. If it were not to the fact that when you experience any past life scenario, the 'truth' is very real to the person it's like the soul seems to recognise it's past self even in incarnations that aren't always easy on our current lives and beliefs.
The healing has given me so many resolutions and a huge validation about my psychic and intuitive skills. As if by resolving these and witnessing many of the incidents in the past, it is as if I can put them into their proper file! I feel, for the 1st time in my life that I'm here & now. History and the people in it are not knocking continuously at my conscious mind.
I feel that much of my true self has been put into perspective and that I can step forward, unburdened by my past experiences. Creator (Source Energy, God..or whatever word you like) has helped me clearly see my power and how it is core to my living a healthy and fulfilled life...
Today, it feels as if it is the proper beginning of my current incarnation...no past selves butting in for a history lesson! Which at 33yrs...I have to say at last!!
Happy Easter
It has been a beautifully sunny weekend here in Edinburgh and my grandchildren had great fun in the garden yesterday hunting for eggs and then smashing them against the wall!
From all of us here at 7th Space, we hope you've had a wonderful time too.
Easter
Sunday, 12 April 2009
This dawn when the mountain cherry lifts
its frail white bloom among the dark pines,
and chipmunks flash small happy paws
along old tumbled boundary lines,
this golden morning when the vixen
nuzzles her five young foxes forth
to roll in ferns in the Easter sun, -
again the woods know soft green birth.
Snuffed by a puffball infant rabbit
are yellow violets by the spring;
among half-opened apple buds
a wood thrush tilts his head to sing.
Risen is He! And they are His,
who scamper under warm blue skies,
who nibble little fists of grass,
and gaze on earth with shy glad eyes.
Grounding
Saturday, 11 April 2009
In two weeks time I will be taking my level 2 Reiki. Because of this, and in conjunction with doing more Reiki work in general, I have been spending much of my time lately concentrating on grounding techniques.
The ease with which I can be distracted by all the shiny baubles of life (like a cat chasing butterflies) means that it's always a good idea for me to think about ways to focus myself more effectively! In the spirit of all the delightful Haiku flitting around the pages of this blog lately – this one is a distillation of a visualisation that helps me to ground:
A carpet of moss
Walked barefoot in spring sunshine
Spicy scent of earth
Sparkling Auras
I promised yesterday to give you a technique for refreshing your aura. It only takes a few minutes and if you can do this outside, it will be even more effective. Our energy system thrives in sunshine and wind and rain and being amongst trees and flowers.
Take a moment to be calm and relaxed. Centre yourself by imagining a silver cord coming from the earth, going through your feet, up through your body, out the top of your head and connecting up to the Universe.
Now bring your attention to the energy bubble which surrounds you - your aura. You don’t have to see or even be aware of it, just imagine that all sluggish energy, all energy which you’ve unconsciously picked up from others and all environmental energy which isn’t compatible, is being lifted out of your aura. You might visualize this as tiny dark droplets floating out and up to dissolve harmlessly in the atmosphere high above. You might imagine a dark wave being sucked down into the earth - choose a visualization which works for you.
As you imagine this stale energy leaving, visualize your aura clearing and beginning to shine with luminous rainbow colours full of love and support, strength and integrity. Feel these qualities within yourself and gently expand them into your aura.
Spend a few moments basking in this wonderful energy and then as a final polish, visualize a sparkling golden light enveloping your aura and protecting it and you.
In your own time, gently bring yourself back to a awareness of the world, grounding your energy lightly with the earth.
spring cleaning-
in a recipe book
Spring Cleaning
In our grandmothers’ day Spring was a time of cleaning away the debris of Winter. Rooms would be turned out from top to toe and shaken and cleaned within an inch of their lives, leaving the whole house sparkling and fresh at the end of the week.
But it wasn’t just houses which were spring cleaned. It was considered just as important to freshen the body. My father used to remember with a shudder the tormentil and chamomille herb tonic his mother made him drink every Spring! And fresh salads of bitter herbs to jolt sluggish systems into life are still eaten at this time across the Mediterranean.
In Winter in Britain we tend to huddle - rushing from house to car to office or shop, bundled up in coats, breathing in stale centrally-heated air and generally cutting ourselves off from the elements. (Unless you have a dog, of course, and then you’re dragged out in all weathers!)
So Spring is a great time to re-energise our energy system. Over the next couple of blogs, I’ll give you a few techniques for setting your chakras spinning joyfully and filling your aura with sparkling light.
Reiki
Wednesday, 8 April 2009
Last night I had a lovely phone call from a lady who wants to do her Tera Mia Seichem Reiki Mastership with me.
What was interesting was that with all my focus of recent months on Theta Healing and now 7th Space, I have been neglecting my Reiki teaching a little! And last night gave me a welcome reminder of how much I love practicing and teaching Reiki.
And also it lets me know that the Universe is quite capable of giving me a nudge to get me back on my path!
New Beginnings
Saturday, 4 April 2009
It's my birthday today and although it isn't a 'landmark' one (40th or 50th etc) it feels a very special one this year.
In a few days Emma and I will officially open the doors of 7th Space here in Edinburgh. It is part of a long held dream of ours and as we are poised on the brink of making it a reality I feel really excited and blessed.
I'd also like to point out that most of today will be spent cleaning, rejuvenating and generally beautifying the Space so there won't be much pampering of the Birthday Girl! However, Emma has promised me champagne somewhere in the day - cheers!
7th Space
Thursday, 2 April 2009
Since Emma put me on the spot about attempting to capture in words the essence of 7th Space :) here are some thoughts!
We have five senses which feed us the ‘facts’ about the ‘reality’ of our world. For many people these are the boundaries of what is real - ever heard someone say “If I can touch it or see it, then it’s real; anything else is just a fantasy”?
Often too in our busy lives we use our five senses in a very one dimensional way and refuse to allow ourselves the joy of connecting fully to the moment. So here’s a reminder of these five incredible sensory tools:
Taste: sun-warmed blackberries, buttered toast, sparkling champagne
Smell: sausages frying, tea-scented roses, baby’s skin
Hear: wind in the trees, laughter, I love you
Touch: velvet, sea washed pebbles, tree bark
See: glittering raindrops, a hawk soaring, a field of daffodils
***
Ah, but we also have another sense to rely on - our 6th sense.
Emotions and Feelings: the constant flow of our own and others’ reactions to the world, our barometer to whether we are enjoying life and living to our potential at any given moment.
Imagination and Intuition: the subtle receiving and blossoming of information which is not yet anchored in the purely physical world.
***
And then we come to 7th Space which informs and influences and makes our lives meaningful:
Serenity: calm, peace, acceptance, certainty, being in the moment
Possibilities: dreams, desires, aspiring, enthusiasm, drive, limitless, potential, abilities
Abundance: expanding, manifesting, joyful, embracing, allowing
Clarity: knowledge, stillness, discernment, questioning
Energy: clear, vibrant, high frequency, connected, healing, free flowing
This awareness and enhancement of all these qualities and experiences, is what we want to develop in our clients at 7th Space. How? That's something for a future post!
Healing the Family
Wednesday, 1 April 2009
In my last blog I wrote about Theta Healing and clearing the ancestral lines. One of the fascinating things many clients tell me is that after their healing sessions, as their own energy patterns become clearer, they notice how everyone around them in their families seems to benefit from the work being done.
Suddenly the tension between an uncle and themselves seems to resolve and they talk for the first time in years. Their teenage son starts to be more co-operative around the house. Their wife may seem more loving. And all this without specific healing being done on these areas.
Since Theta Healing taps into the interconnectedness of the quantum field and of all life, it really is no surprise. But it is wonderful to see how the hearts of my clients are opened and made joyful by the healing within their families.
Theta Basic
I am embarking on the theta basic training this week...
I am sitting here typing this blog, eating breakfast, sticking the diamonds back on my shoes (see twitter)motivating my girls, one for school & the other not to put more honey in her hair and practising going up to 7th plane!
This morning is full of the same thing as most others BUT now I feel that somewhere along the line I am not losing my will to live...but embracing the now & amazingly enjoying it!
