Two Minute Meditation

Thursday, 30 April 2009

Think of your favourite flower. Now, begin to build a picture of it vividly in your mind’s eye. See its colour - is it red, yellow, blue, shining white? What shape is it? Does it have a flat face or is it cup shaped? How many petals - a few or masses tightly wrapped?

Once you can sense its shape and colour let yourself be drawn into it. If it has a perfume let that be your pathway. Or imagine the colour reaching out and folding you in.

Now that you are in the depths of the flower, notice the faint honey scent from its nectar, see that each petal is iridescent, feel its soft texture all around you.

Breathe the colour of the flower into you, let the cool freshness fill you. Sink down so deeply that you become part of the flower. You become as clear and as reflective as a drop of dew perched on a petal.

Everything drains out of you, you release every tension, every worry until you are at peace.
