A few years ago I read of a nightly practice which caught me up in its simplicity and beauty. As a way of of reflecting on the day and the state of one’s soul, I think it is elegant and illuminating.
Three lines:
First line begins - It was a day of…….
Middle line begins - It was …….
Last line begins - There was …….
Here are a few examples from my journal:
It was a day of rain
It was candlelight and home cooking and Tarot
There was a sense of resolve.
It was a day of three Haikus
It was tears and smiles in equal measure
There was creativity.
It was a day of looked-for post
It was slipping on the stairs and getting close to intent
There was peace - of a kind.

P.S(by Emma :o) What were your three lines, today?
Mine were:
It was a day of cool, azure skies.
It was full of blackbirds chattering & protecting nests.
There was refreshed soul.
