Fine drizzle that mists the air so buildings loom out like images from the past. Tropical rain which bounces joyously off the pavement, flooding down the High Street in a torrent. Cold rain which nags and soaks and makes you long to be indoors by an unseasonal fire.
Silver rain promising rainbows and a sweet freshness afterward. Titanic rain with jagged bolts of light and clamorous crashings of sound. Swift rain in the early morning, over while the world sleeps leaving jewels scattered on every blade and leaf.
And while we scurry about under our umbrellas, dodging puddles or cursing the smearing wetness on our car windscreens, we long for sunshine and ignore the beauty pouring down on us!
