Happy 2010
It's been an amazing few hours here in Edinburgh!I've just come back from taking my eldest granddaughter up Calton Hill in time for the midnight fireworks. The display was fantastic both on the Hill and across at the Castle. The roar of hundreds of thousands of people down in Princes Street garden celebrating was incredible and Poppy was nearly taking off like a rocket with excitement (closely followed I must admit by me!).
Earlier in the evening we'd watched the partial Lunar eclipse. Then as we were near the bottom of the Hill on our way home, we watched a Lunar rainbow form in rings around the moon. It was so beautiful and totally magical.
After the last couple of days of energy raining down on us it was like a blessing. I'm taking it as a sign that 2010 is going to be amazing for us all!
Happy New Year!
Much love from

Peace in the Moment
December is probably the busiest month for most of us and in all the rush and demands it's good to take a quiet time to just be.Not easy I hear you say but there is always a moment in the day when we can look beyond our worries and notice the beauty.
It might be a beautiful tree in the garden, time to read a favourite poem, connect on Facebook with a friend, stop for a moment to enjoy a Christmas carol on the radio, chat to a neighbour or just have that lovely satisfaction when you can tick one more job off the preparations list!
Reflections
This week I've been reminded how much we are all reflections of each other. American Thanksgiving is so identifiable to us all - a time for being with loved ones and family, cooking and having fun, renewing traditions for each generation.
On a personal level I have been overcome the last few days by the kindness of friends and the support of strangers and have been so aware of how we are all aspiring for very similar dreams and desires. How much we all want love, peace, safety and well being. At times feeling the intimacy of the energies has been too much and I've wanted to shout out - back off, let me have some space! But each day brings new awareness of how we are all working together in a way not really experienced before. No one is coming into our lives by accident. No story we hear is by chance. We are busy connecting a great web of energy - ready to change our World.
Expansion is Wonderful
Expansion is what we are all doing in every second of our day. It’s why we are here. Some call it ‘learning lessons’, some call it ‘my purpose’ or ‘my soul path’. It is the basis of Law of Attraction - seeing what you don’t want causes you to know what you do want - and in that moment, there is expansion. A new desire, a possibility of change, growth. But we humans dance this dance of doing everything in our power to resist change, to resist expansion. We fight and kick and stamp our feet to hold on to the belief that maintaining the status quo is happiness, is correct, is serving ourselves and our communities.
We are taught from an early age that change is chaos, change makes you different, you will become something unrecognisable and threatening if you change. Your loved ones will lose you - because of course, they are being sensible and doing everything they can to resist change, resist growth. If you change and grow, you will be responsible for their unhappiness.
When you see it out loud, it seems absurd doesn’t it?
Expansion is as natural as breathing - in fact it is breathing. What do your lungs do when you breath in? They expand. Now that didn’t hurt, did it?
But why should we want to co-operate in this expansion stuff? Surely it’s easier to buy into the ‘reality’ that growth equals chaos?
Expansion is always into a better feeling place. When you reach for love, that’s expansion. When you feel excited by a new idea, that’s expansion. When you feel satisfaction at a job well done, that’s expansion. When your child gives you a hug and you smile, that’s expansion. When you plant spring bulbs in the wintertime in the anticipation of beauty in the spring, that’s expansion. When you help your neighbour, that’s expansion. When you sit down to a meal with all your family together, that’s expansion. When you learn something new, that’s expansion.
Whenever you feel better, feel good, feel happy, feel joy - that’s growth and expansion.
As simple as that. And the wonderful truth is that...the more you expand, the more you expand. The more you choose to expand and have these better feelings, the more experiences and people and situations will come to you which allow you to expand.
Joy, love, abundance, enthusiasm, hope aren’t dangerous or painful feelings. They are the natural basis of our expansion and growth. Anything else is resistance and resistance is painful and exhausting. Even one moment of Joy in your day will expand you beyond your wildest dreams.
And Joy can be found in the most unlikely places, just make the choice and allow it to steal over you. Let it lead you into expansion and growth and the life you truly want.
What is Life?
What is life?It is the flash of a firefly in the night
It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime
It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset
